Lake Bled, Postojna Cave and the Škocjan Caves all lie outside Ljubljana, and most of the best-reviewed offers are day trips to them. The old town itself is compact enough to walk. We say so up front, not in the small print.
Bled and Postojna Cave are each about an hour from Ljubljana by car; the bus to Bled takes about 1 hour 20. The coast at Piran is roughly 1¼ to 1½ hours away. Knowing that beforehand is how you plan the day.

Yes, there are combined tours – but it is a long day. Most of the combined Bled and Postojna tours listed here run 10 to 11.5 hours. If you would rather have time at each place, pick one of the two and do the other on another day.
No. Both are reachable by public transport from Ljubljana: the bus to Bled takes about 1 hour 20, Postojna is roughly an hour away. The cave entrance is a little outside the town, though, and Predjama Castle lies another 9 km beyond Postojna – which is why many people book a tour that includes the transfer.
No, Ljubljana is inland. Slovenia’s coast is only about 47 km long, and Piran, the best-known town on it, is around 120 km away – roughly 1¼ to 1½ hours by road. It works as a long day trip, usually combined with the Škocjan Caves, not as a quick swim.
The cave stays at about 8 to 10 °C all year, whatever the weather outside, so bring a warm layer and comfortable shoes even in summer.
The castle stands on a hill above the old town. The ticket can be booked with or without the funicular ride, so you can also walk up. Check the current ticket prices on the booking page – we do not quote them here because sources disagree.
Age limits and child prices differ by operator and tour, and they are stated on each booking page. We do not list a general minimum age because there is none that applies to every tour.
